The year started with new announcements for potential investors in the aviation sector. Recently, the São Paulo State Government through the regulatory Agency of Transportation of the State of São Paulo ("ARTESP") and the Airway Department of the State of São Paulo ("DAESP") launched a concession project for the exploitation, extension and maintenance of five airports, all of them located in different regions of the São Paulo State:

(i) Comandante Rolim Adolfo Amaro, in Jundiai;
(ii) Artur Siqueira, in Bragança Paulista;
(iii) Campos dos Amarais, in Campinas;
(iv) Gastão Madeira, in Ubatuba and
(v) Antônio Ribeiro Nogueira Júnior, in Itanhaém.

Such regional airport concessions are part of the round of measures by the Brazilian Federal Government, the main purpose of which is to foster the investments in the modernization not only of the Airport Sector, but of the transportation infrastructure as a whole.

The financial modeling of the concession of these five airports in São Paulo estimate yearly revenues for the future concessionaires in the amount of BRL 24 million, with 88% coming from non-tariff (or complementary) revenues.

The request for tenders draft provides for a 30-year concession period, allowing the participation of investment and pension funds, individually or in Consortium. The Bidders must offer at least BRL 9,981,000.00 as a grant payment to the São Paulo Government.

ARTESP will host a public hearing session to discuss the bid documents on January 25, 2015 at the FATEC university, located at Avenida União dos Ferroviários, nº 1760 in the city of Jundiai, at 9 A.M.

In this event, ARTESP will also discuss the suggestions for the concession projects already presented by the interested parties, who had until January 6, 2015 to file their contributions.
