The first article examines the August 2014 release by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) of a guide to information security and what constitutes "reasonable steps" to protect personal information. This issue also examines some likely consequences of the recently introduced Freedom of Information Amendment Bill 2014 – including the abolition of the OAIC.
