Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") Acting Director Mick Mulvaney selected Brian Johnson as Acting Deputy Director of the CFPB.

Mr. Johnson served most recently as Principal Policy Director at the CFPB. He previously worked as senior counsel to House Financial Services Committee Chair Jeb Hensarling (R-TX).

CFPB Deputy Director Leandra English recently announced that she would step down from her position in response to President Trump's nomination of new CFPB Director Kathleen Kraninger. In a statement released on Twitter, Ms. English and her attorney also confirmed that they would withdraw her lawsuit challenging President Trump's authority to appoint Mr. Mulvaney as Acting Director of the CFPB.
