In the November 13, 2017, and January 2, 2018, Federal Register,
FDA amended the food additive regulations for food additives
permitted in feed and drinking water of animals to provide for the
safe use of formic acid and ammonium formate, and of formic acid as
a feed acidifying agent in complete poultry feeds. The
rules became effective immediately.
