Update – we understand a salvage contract has been signed between Owners and Nippon Salvage. As such there will be a salvage claim and cargo interests no doubt would like to recover losses from Owners/carriers.

A declaration of GA is also almost inevitable in our view.

***

We have received reports that the "CHEMROAD JOURNEY ", a 2009 built chemical tanker flying the Cayman Islands flag, has grounded and is listing 15 degrees to port, believed to be holed.

It is carrying a cargo loaded in Saudi Arabia and was bound for China via Singapore.

The vessel requires professional assistance from salvors.

It is also possible that General Average will be declared.

So far as any recovery is concerned, we have identified the vessel's P&I Club.

If your own guarantees are not acceptable to salvors we can also assist you in arranging salvage security to secure any salvage claims, with a bail fee from 0.5% of the guarantee amount.

If you would like assistance in dealing with any claims for salvage, potential GA claims and recovery of your losses, please do contact us.

If you have insured cargo on board the vessel please feel free to contact us.
