In the December 27, 2016, Federal Register, FDA
amended the regulations for food additives permitted in feed and
drinking water of animals to provide for the safe use of feed-grade
sodium formate as a feed acidifying agent in complete poultry
feeds. This action is in response to a food additive petition filed
by BASF Corp. Objections and requests for a hearing
were due January 26, 2017.
