The SEC requested comment on a FINRA proposal to delay the effective date of a proposed rule change that would clarify the operation of its "Regulation NMS Plan to Address Extraordinary Volatility" in the wake of a trading pause or regulatory halt in an NMS security. The request for comments was published in the Federal Register.
The new effective date for the proposed rule change will be extended from August 22, 2016 to October 24, 2016. The extension is intended to allow enough time for firms to make necessary operational changes.
Comments on the proposal must be submitted by September 20, 2016
