A Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) signed between Jersey and the Republic of Cyprus has been welcomed by Jersey Finance.

The comprehensive DTA was signed at the Cyprus High Commission in London on Monday (11 July 2016).

Jersey Finance’s CEO, Geoff Cook, said: “Jersey remains one of the best regulated international finance centres, a position that has been acknowledged by independent assessments from some of the world’s leading bodies including the OECD, and we welcome this, the twelfth DTA signed by Jersey to these international standards".

“The Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEAs) and DTAs signed by Jersey’s authorities not only assist in building good-quality business with those countries and are also a reflection of Jersey’s commitment to comply with international standards.”
