CGPDTM Launches New Unique Numbering System For Patent Applications And Requests For Examination In The Patent Office

The Indian patent office has recently launched a new numbering
system for all the Patent application filed in India and the
Request for Examination. The new numbering system shall be
effective from 01st January, 2016 for all the Patent application
and request for examination filled in India Patent office. The new
numbering system for all Patent application and request for
examination shall have 12 character fixed length numeric standard
Patent application format. Please find attached the annexure I and
annexure II stating unique number format for Patent application and
Request for examination.
