The House voted to make three expired provisions permanent last week as part of the slow-moving legislative process to address more than 50 tax provisions that expired at the end of 2013.

The votes represented progress but did not materially affect the outlook for an eventual resolution. A final agreement on extending these provisions is still unlikely before late in the year.
