This bulletin is a follow-up to the one published on September 25, 2013: New WCB Bullying and Harassment Policies Take Effect November 1, 2013

On October 2, 2013, WorkSafeBC revealed the bullying and harassment prevention toolkit to assist employers and others to comply with their legal duties outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies. The tool kit also provides information, training tools and templates that workplaces can adapt to meet their individual needs.

The tool kit is a useful source of information for employers and we recommend that all employers working towards the November 1st compliance date review it. The tool kit can be found on the WorkSafeBC website.

Note that effective November 1, 2013, WorkSafeBC prevention officers in the course of regular inspections may seek to confirm that the requirements of the bullying and harassment policies have been implemented. In addition, prevention officers may attend workplaces in response to an action request based on a complaint or concern.
