First ANP Bid Round On Pre-Salt Areas Scheduled for
November 28, 2013
Brazil′s Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) has announced
that the first ANP bid round to include blocks in the pre-salt area
will occur in November 28, 2013. The government expects to identify
the areas which will be offered in June.
Regarding the bid round focused on unconventional resources
(especially shale gas), Brazil?s President, Dilma Rousseff, intends
to open bidding in October. Areas in six different basins
(Paraná, São Francisco, Parecis, Sergipe/Alagoas,
Parnaíba e Recôncavo) are likely to be offered, but
are still pending approval of the relevant regulatory body,
CNPE.
