A little more than four years ago, the Community of the Servants of Jesus Charity (Comunidad de las Siervas de Jesús de la Caridad) asked Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal to provide legal counsel for a project they have: to build an old people's home in the Buenos Aires' neighborhood of Balvanera.

Like any other large project, professionals from different areas of our firm participated in drafting and making the follow-up of building contracts and service agreements of different kinds. More importantly, taking over the procedures related to a very important donation with assets located abroad that had to be repatriated via cedines. Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal also advised the Community regarding the customs clearance of a cargo with equipment destined for the home, and its registration and follow-up at the Financial Intelligence Unit (Unidad de Información Financiera).

The old people's home, located at Moreno 2235/45, Buenos Aires, has been recently formally opened.  This undertaking is projected and built to accommodate fifty elderly people, with high level equipment adapted to housing and taking care of the disabled.

Once again, we emphasize the importance pro bono work has for our firm, and our commitment to it. As Jorge Pérez Delgado, who was the link with the sisters, said: "I'm more convinced than ever about the benefits of pro bono work that humanizes our profession".  For that reason, we invite everybody to join us and, work towards the common good, each in their own way.
